Executed, Waynesburg, Paes 2-26-1890; with Zach Taylor,
murdered William McCausland, "a quiet and gentlemanly
drover" from Allegheny City " in the next county” on

Septe 10, 1887; victim was apparently robbed of $1,500
which it was assumed he had on his persons; so well had the
murderers covered their tracks that they were not appre-
hended until Dece 27; Taylor was tried first and was con-
victed Jane 3, 1888; Clark was sentenced De¢e 3, 1888; he
was executed by Sheriff John T, Goodwin "the first to exe-
cute the death sentence on a convicted man in the history
of the county"; exerpted from Green County DEMOCRAT,
