mored that one member of court favored sentencing him to
bransportation and a crowd threw rope around neck as he
was being taken to jail and attempted to hang, Others re=
sisted and he was finally lodged in jail, stripped of
clothing and bearing evidence of rough handling, The next
morning, he was returned to court and sentenced to hange"
