On the night of August 19, 1952, 37-year-old Lawrance
lured his 16-year-old god-daughter, Kathryn Knollel from
her Redlands, Calif., home on the pretext of going for
anight drive. He brutally rappd her and then bludgeoned
her to death, leaving the body on a road in the desert
some fifty miles from her home. He was exectihed in San
