"Aiken, SC, Oct. 8, 1926=A mob early today storme
the Aiken jail, seized 3 negroes, one of thema ~
woman, and shot them to death in a pine thicket
just beyond the city limits. The Page ges were
on trial for the murder of Sheriff H, H. Howard
of Aikem County, who was shot to death at the
home of the negroes a year ago last April. A
verdict of acquittal had been handed down yester-~
