MARPLE, Richard I,

Marple, a,white man, was born near Corvallis, Benton Coes Oré.y-in:
1860. His first recorded encounter*with the law was in July, 1685,
when he was arrested in Polk Countyg tharged with robbery and. having
taken the stolen goods into Yamhill County, His mother, Bliza..Ann
Marple, was BRRAXKas involved in this particular incident, and. the
charges were subsequently dropped as were charged against hin ine.
October, 1886, for assaulting Sam Lee with a pistol. On Nov.| Th
1886, he was breaking into a store in lafayette owned by De Je Cairker,
When Corker surprised him in the act of entering, Marple killed the
store owner with an axe, tried, convicted and sentenced to die, his
execution was delayed when the Supreme Court of yeceon ordered the
