murder, walked up to Casteklano, from Ventura, serving
years for robbery, and without warning drove case knife
into heart, Men were just passing out prison on way to
prison farm when attack made. No words between them and
only explanation Negrete would make was that he was glad
he had killed, A year's credits had been taken from Ne-
grete some time previously when a knife found on him,

fore the trap was sprung, but what they were nobody was
able to decipher. At thirteen minutes and thirty-five
seoonds after Negrete dropped he was declared dead by
a physician. Negrete was sent to Folsom Prison for murder
from Los Angeles County and he soon became recognized as a
heartless, cold-blooded criminal at the prison, This was
