"Columbia, S. C., h-13-1893-George Kinard, black, was to-
day found guilty of outrage on Mrs. Addison,~-a white woe
man living at Irmo, and was sentenced to hang on May 6,
1893, When asked if he had anything to say why death
sentence should not be imposed, he said: 'I am just as
innocent as any man in this court house, ‘/ never had any

curious that I should wait until I was over 60 years old
