Cornelius Wilhelms 6-21- 1839

Location: NYC

Details: Born at Aalborg, Denmark, on 6-25-1790.

Member of the crew of the brig Braganza
which mutinied and murdered their Captain, one Capt.
Turney by name. Three co-defendants all suicided in
prison. Execution took place on Ellis Island in New
York Harbor. Island was also called Bedloe's Island
and Gibbet Island. THIS WAS A FEDERAL CASE.
