"Auburn, NY, Dec. 10, 1913-Before he took his place in the
death chair here today to expiate the murder of Frank Ford
a Rochester patrolman last year, Nelson Sharp gave out a
statement in which he declared he had served in the army
and navy and would meet death like a soldiers that it was
time he paid for his follies, and that if by giving up his
own life he could restore that of Ford he willingly would
do it. He said no one was to blame for the tragedy - only
drink. Sharp started trouble in his boarding house while
he was in a raving condition and when Ford went to restore
