Details: These miscreants wete two out of a detail

of twelve negro militiamen who accosted a
white waggoner named George Mattison Stevens as he was
proceeding along the highway on 12-31-70. They noticed
that he was transporting a barrel of whiskey and so de-
manded drink of him. Soon the tippling got out of hand
and they murdered him. All twelve were rounded up and
