Hanged, Charlotte, Ne Co, on July 2, 1891, for having mur-
dered John B, Mocca in April, A gambler and native of
Bamberg, Se Coy his body returned there. Confessed immed-
lately before execution saying he had gone in small store
owned by Mocca and ordered a glass of cider, While Mocca
had back turned and was drawying cider, hedrew a coupling
pe from underneath his coat and bludgeoned Mocca to death,
aid he had been concealing pin underneath coat since ];
the preceiding afternoon awaiting chance, Last words:
"Goodbye. Pray for me while I'm going."" Neck not broken
and died of strangulation,
