"Charleston, SC, 10-29-17)-On Thursday last the following
persons, who had been convicted at the General Sessions of
the Peace, Oyer and Terminer, Assize and General Goal De-
livery, begun and holden at Charleston on Wednesday, the
17th instant, received sentence as follows: Thomas Ellis,
alias Stick in the Mud, alias, Tom thump the Devil, convic-
ted of stealing a horse, the property of Thomas Monck, Esq,
was sentenced to be hanged on Wednesday fortnight (Nov. 13,
