Kirkham, a. 19-year~old parolee from Colorado State Prison
where he had served time for aumed robbery and auto theft
ERKSRMREANE robbed a Salt LakeCity, Utah, market on the
night of Aug. 11, 1956, and shot and killed Mrs, Ruth
Webster, 38-year-old sis ter of the owner and 50-year-old
David Frame, a clerk, because he thought that hkey were
holding back money. He kidnapped a 17-year-old Salt Lake
City girl and forced her to drive for him though he did
not harm her, The girl convinced Kirkham to surrender
which he did. He confessed and was hanged on June ie
