Jawarski, a Pittsburgh, Pa., gang leader specialized in
the armed robbery of payrolls and banks. He was exceed-
ingly vicilous and at the time of his death was credited
with 2 2 murders including members of his own gang, po-
lice officers and innocent bystanders who just happened
to be in the way. Jawarski HAZ claimed that the number

of his victims was actually 28. He was shot up badly

in his Cleveland, Ohio, capture and ca rried a bullet

im the brain with him to his death in the electric chair
a t Rockview Penitentiary, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 21, 19294
