Hanged at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, N, Gey On Dec,
13, 1816, for murder, Tried there on a change of venue
from Lincoln County, Witnesses for state were John Wil-
son, Samuel Espy, Esquire, Samuel Espy, Jr., William
Quin, James Wells, Jacob Pinion, Peggy Dyer, William
Dyer, John Dyer & James McCarty. Ordered that those
who guarded jail during trial and execution were to be
paid on May 6, 1819, Mecklenburg Co, Minute Docket,
Civil & Criminal, Superior Court 1811-1851, Vols. I & 2,
