James Johnson, 26-yeareold black man, electrocuted at
the North Carolina State Prison (Hoke County) on March
16, 1934. He was a native of Bingham, Se. C,, and was
put to death for the murder of his sweetheart, Virginia
Leake, in Hoke County.
