cuted today for the murder of his common-law wife at Monro-
via, Los Angeles Co., on July 2, 1906, after a fruitless
effort to obtain a new trial, The murder was committed in

then fired a second shot to make sure of her death, After
receiving the sacrament from Father Dillon of San Rafael,
the murderer walked to the gallows calmly, showing no sign
