"San Francisco, Calif., March 20, 1885=Stephen Jones,

a negro murderer, was hanged ede today at 12:10 P. M,
Jones, in a fit of jealousy, murdered his white mistress,
Mary Agnes Riley, June 8, 1883, His wish that a photo-
graph of the murdered Bin} be buried with him was granted,
Father Connelly, of the Catholic church, attended him

in his last moments, Life was extinct in 10 minutes

after the drop fell,"
