“KEARNEY, Dennis and PICKINGS, John.

THE NEW YORK TOOMS, by Charles Sutton, Ed. d.
B. Mix & S&S. A. MacKeever; NY: U. 5. Publishing
Co.,, 1874, page 153, states that they were
hanzed, New York City, for Bargtayyin. 1785.

"New York, duly 18, 1785: On Saturday last (July
16, 1785)...for counterfeiting and passing
Spanish dollars made of base metal, Dennis
Kearney and John rickings were to have been exe
cuted at the same time for burglary but the for
mer was repridéved under the gallows and the
latter being much disabled by a fall he receive
on the night of the 30th of June in attempting
to make his escape, his fate was postponed to
