"Folsom, Mar, 27 = George Hall, 29-year-old bank bandit and

police killer, was hanged today for the slaying of Highway

Patrolman Steven Kent and Garageman Lester Quiggle of Yreka,

The slayer lost his bravado many hours before Warden Court

Smith, 3 guards and the prison chaplain escorted him from

his cell and started him on his long walk to the gallows.

He slept very little last night and obviously was nervous.

He waived the reading of the death warrant, saying he did

not want to,hear it. He exhibited no interest in his break-
