O'Dell, a Canadian, and two friends, Walter Griffen and
Ralph Joseph Grubisch, robbed the Buffalo jewelry store
of Donald Hurd on Dec. 9, 1952. O'Dell shot and killed
the J8uXee jeweler for no reason at all as all of the
robbers demands were met with. O'Dell and Griffen were
captured in Canada and extradited while Grubisch was
not captured. O'Dell and Griffen died in Sing Sing's
electric chair on January 7, 195).
