26, 1879, for the murder of Duke Sumner in Febe, 1877,
He was very calm throughout, his head dropping and tears
falling from his cheeks, After the death warrant had
been read, he said that he had intended to say something
but was too weak and asked for a drink, requesting that
another song be sung and another prayer said,
