Wurnell, described as "a desperate character'', stabbed
~ and killed Abner Jones on the night of Dec. |, 1836, at
the home of Ike Dover on the Ohio River in Henderson Co.,
Kentucky. Wurnell fled but was subsequently captured
and taken to Henderson where he stood trial and was con-
__wicted. He was hanged on Nov. 5, 1837.
