Gast, a World War t Veteran from Tuscaloosa, Alas, shot
and killed his wife, At his trial he refused to go into

detaiits of the killing, saying onty that he would-say
nothing against her as she was not there to defend her-

self, At his hearing for a commutation, he stated that

he had killed her ina jealous rage when he returned
from a CCC camp and she confessed to him that she had

been intimate with other men during his absence, Gast

was electrocuted on June 5, 1936, and his Last words
