"HANGING OF tPATSY' HARRIS: WAshington, Feb. lh,
John, alias a Harris, was hanged in the
jail at 11:30 o'clock this morning for the mur-
der of Matthew Sprovell, which occurred in
Georgetown, Wast Washington, July kh, 1895.

Both men were colored. Snrouell was a barber
and Harris, while intoxicated, went to his shop
and picked a quarrel. Sprouell-fled from his
tormentor, but was pursued and fatally shot."
