George H. Martin, on the night of April 18, 18933; in a
narrow street known as Grave Yard Lane in Garietes "was
prowling the streets and as patrolman approached he shot
him"; after a brief period of liberty he was captured at
Hagerstown, Mde3 "a notorious criminal”; sentenced July

jail to witness the executions; bystanders paid a nickel
each to view the body and the money was used to bury him
