killed Frank B, Russell, in this city, on Sept. 29, 1882,
was hanged today in ee county jail at 12:15 o'clock, The
execution was private. Only the three friends of the con-
demed man, six newspaper reporters and a posse of sheriffs
officers, as provided by the law passed by the recent leg-=
mslature, witnessed the hanging, Wilson was a colored man
about 20 years of age and had a good face. He seemed per-
fectly composed, and was attended on the scaffold by Father
Aloysius, of St. Mary Church, he having embraced the Catho-
lic religion last Sunday. He made no speech, simply bidd-
ing farewell by shaking hands with those around him, Short
