NGreensboro, NC, Sept. 27, 1916=J. A. Terry was today sen-
tenced to be electrocuted Dec, 18 for the murder of John

Re Stewart, a wealthy farmer; near here last July (July 15,
1916), Terry, the state charged, went to the Stewart home
and shot him, An old quarrel was assigned as the cause,"
JOURNAL, Atlanta, Georgia, September 27, 1916 (5:7).

Jerry A. Terry, 60-year-old Guilford Co,, NC, white labo-
rer, was electrocuted on Nove 9, L917, for murder of John
R, Stewart. Went to his death calmly, Last words were:
"Lord have mercy on my soul," DAILY NEWS, Greensboro,
NC, 11-10-1917
