WRIGHT, Walter Wallace

Wright, 2 28-year-old Wellesville, Ohio, white man had been travel-
ing with show which he left at Steubenville where he remained for
Several days, He went to a garage owned by Harry Dean Cummins, a
young man, and asked for a demonstration in an automobile, stating
that he wanted to purchase it. On Permar's Run Road, now Sinclair
Avenue, Wright drew a gun and forced Cummins to stop the car, He
tried to get Cummins to make out and Sign a bill of sale and when
Cummins refused and started cursing him, Wright shot and kilied
him, He took the money BXEXERRKX out of Cummins pockets and left in
the car which he subsequently collided with another car, Arrested,
he confessed and he admitted his guilt in court at his trial,
Wright seemed to have experienced a sincere religious conversion

March 1, 1922, He went to his death wearing two red roses in his
lapel and made a statement in which he said that he had no malice
and would die happy since he had accepted Jesus Christ,
