rape. Jackson, 2l, a laborer, had enlisted
on 8-20-186) at Newport News, Va., and_ Brooks,
22, a teamster, on 6-21-186) at Point Lookout,
MD, Both Va. natives. Both men wer sergeants
at time of offense in lage April, 1865, and
reduced to ranks on 5-1. Both convicted by
general court martial. )
