Black, electrocuted Texas State Prison (‘Wood County) on
January h, 1957. ‘Leslie Webb, convicted of murdering a
white man, was executed at the Texas State Prison early
today, The 3heyear-old Negro, a native of Gilmer, en-
tered the death chamber at 12:02 AM and was strapped in-
to the electric chair. He was pronounced dead at 12:08
AM. He made no last statement. He appeared calm as
guards strapped him into the chair, Earlier,..he said he
was ready to die,"
