Descent), Union Army, joining at Corinth, Ms,
on $=21-1863, First black Union soldier @xe-
cuted. Promoted to sergeant but reduced again
on 6-3-1863 for drunkéness and neglect of duty.
Born, Tuscaloosa, Ala. Victim was white girl.
