"P hiladelphia, Nov. 25th: At a Court of Oyer &
“erminer held at Carlisle for the County of Cum-
berland the 18th day of October 1779 before the
Hon, Thomas McKean & “illiam Augustus Atlee,
Lsqrs., Justices, etc...Christopher Shockley was
tried and convicted and received senténce of
death forppassing countefeit thirty dollar bills
of tomtinental money dated 22nd duly 1776." BXx
