"The Winebago Indian, convicted of murder, who had been
respited for one month, was executed at the expiration
of his respite at Kaskaskia (am carrying as Randolph COs,
Tll.). His companion, it will be recollected, had pre-
viously died in gaol, and thus escaped the ignominious
punishment. The Winebago 'seemed to regard his approach-
