NEW YORK HERALD, Jan. 13, 1870 (4:6) recounts
execution of Charlie Humphries, black, at
C@lumbus, Mississippi, on January 7th for the
murder of John McDaniel. This is repreinted
from the Columbus INDEX of January Sth. The
victim was white and was bushwhacked on the
highway.
