and prosperous merchant who lived at what was then known as Phelps!

Some reason now obscured by time, Albert Killed Mr, Tabor on March 8,
XB¥EX 1857, by striking him two blows with an axe at the Tabor house,
A slave girl who witnessed the murder was So frightened that she ran
to the creek, threw herself in and drowned. Albert was indicted by
the grand jury on March 11 and promptly tried, convicted and sentenced
to hange The sentence was carried out in a woodland pasture on the
Old Flemingsburg and Hlizatille Road on May 13, 1857,
