TRAMMEL, Luke
White, electrocuted texas State Prison Brazoria) on

Aug. 20, 1937. "Retrieve Prison Farm, Tex., 6-19-1936-
Three Texas prisoners, listed as among the 'worst! in the
state, killed a guard with his own pistol today and esca-
ped into the trackless underbrush near this South Texas
prison farm, The break occurred while guards were taking
a squad of convicts out to plow. Felix Smith, guarding
the rear, was jerked from his horse and shot to death, Le¢q
by Luke ‘'rammel, sentenced to 162 years' imprisonment for
murder, robbery and other crimes, the fugitives eluded a
posse, quickly organized by Capt. Rube Conner, in charge
of the farm, Bloodhounds failed to pick up their trail,
