county jail, William Brooker was hanged for murder, He’ |
wxpressed no religious or other feelings save what was
shown in a confession written before the execution and
given to the press immediately after, in which he says
the blame for his deed was in the coaxing away from home
the children of his wife by Coombs and wife. He parted
with his children yesterday afternoon but did not want to
see his wife. The crime for which Brooker: suffered was
committed at the home of Wm. Coombs on Nov. 20 last,
Coombs wasmarried to a sister of Brooker's wife and she
made Coombs! house a sortmof rendezvous when away from
home. Brooker went there on the fatal morning, and while
talking with her for her continual absence from home Mr
