Negress Rose 3-4-1859

Offence: Poisoning

Location: St. Landry Parish LA

Ex Date: 3-4-1859

Details: Slave of the Widow Singleton. Cahooted

with another wench named 'Jenny' to lace
her owner's coffee pot with strychnine. Results were
not fatal. Jenny turned State's Evidence and got a life
term. Rose was hung at Gummy Point on the Bayou Chicot.
