"Bertram L. Brown, a negro, killed William Brown, a half-
brother, in Rye on May 21, 1910. The Drowns had been en-
gaged in a game of craps in a saloon and William Brown had
won all themoney, William Brown left for home, Bertram
Brown, with two companions, went to the Brown home and
asked for his mother, William Brown opened the door and
as he did so Bertram Brown fired tw shots, one of which
killed his half-brother," B'HAM NEWS, B'ham, Ala. 11-20-11
