WONG DON KAY

Wong Don Kay, a 58-year-old Chinaman, was born at Michigan Bluff,
Calif., where, as a boy, he became proficient in the use of a rifle
while hutbhigg deer, He had served a total of HK seven years in the
Federal Prison at Leavenworh, Kans., following convictions in EkE
Federal Courts in Oregon and California on narcotics violations,
After his release on parole, he went to PAAXERHIXIE Auburn, Placer
Cosy Calif. In late August, 190, he and three other Chinamen,
46-year-old Lee Cee, 58-year-old Wong Chuck, and an Auburn Laundryman
named Hip Sing were gambling. Wong Don Kay who was losing became
convinced that the others were cheating him and when he Sought to
leave, he claimed that they had beaten him. At the time he did go
to a hospital but told them that his fractured ribs were caiked by

a fall down the’ stairs, Around’ 7:30 on the evening of Sept. 17,’
1941, armed with a Winchester rifle, he went to the location of Hip
Sing's laundry in lower Auburn and shot WSAEXEKEHK Wong Chuch, xx
sitting on the stoop, through the eyes. He then turned the rifle
on Lee Cee who was walking down the street and shot him twice with

one bullet striking him in the &hest and the other in the head. He
