TABURN, Washington April 9, 1834

"At the Superior Court of Granville (Co., NC), Judge
Norwood presiding, the noted Washington Taburn was again
sentenced to be hanged on Wednesday, the 9th of April

According to TARBOROUGH (NC.) FREE, PRESS

of 4-9-1834, he was hanged on April 9, 1834
for horse-stealing. Had previously been
Capitally convicted five times, but had manag-
ed to escape execution each time,
