This was on August 1, 1873, when Thomas R, Hollohan and
Joshua Nicholson died on the sallows for the murder of
Mrs, John Lampley, Unusual notoriety was given to this
case by the attempt of Hollohan to assassinate Deputy
Marshal Frey, who afterward became marshal of the plice,
in open court at Annapolis durine the trial of the case,"
