"10-12-1883-Carl Bach was hanged at Bowling Green, Ohio,
today for the murder of his wife in October, 1881, in a
quarrel with a corn-cutter. He was tried twice and con=
vieted each time. On the scaffold he was cool and re-
sponded to the prayers by the German Priest, He charged
his death to the persistent efforts of the district

attorney who he forgave. His neck was broken. The exe-
cution was privated!!
