WRIGHT, Abijah
Wright, a Philadelphia Tory, , entered the mansion house of a wealthy
Whig, Col. Andrew Knox with the intention of kidnapping or infimida~
ting him at night. Wright fired several shots at Know, but the Colo-
nel was not @njured. This occured after midnight and Wright was
charged with felony and burglary. Convicted and sentenced to death,
he was hanged at Philadelphia on Dec. 5, 1778.
