HUDSON, Dollie Lee

Hudson, a 27-year-old black man, was a share-cropper on land owned

Mr, Elliott drove Hudson and another tenant to the tobacco sale in
Rocky Mount. Afterwards,’ they went by the bank where Elliott cashed
the checks that he had received and settled with the two men. He
¥ cave Hudson $10.35 in cash and told him that his debt was paid. Hud-

son asked for the sale slip for the tobacco and Elliott made out a
duplicate in his own handwriting and gave it to him, explained that_
he had to keep the origial for his own records. Before leaving Rocky
Mount, Hudson was heard to state that he planned to kill someone ei-
ther before he got home or afterwards and then flee to the woods.
