where obtained employment in an effort to save money so
that he could pay off his debts in Canaria, He board with
the Colvin family. One day while Mr, Colvin was away y
Mrs. Rose Colvin caught McConnell Stealing some clothes
and attacked him with a coal poker, McConnell fought
badk with an axe and killed the woman, burying her body
underneath a wood pile. When McConnell was finally cap=
tured in Ottawa, Ontario, he was wearing Mr. Colvin's
clothes and still had $150 of KXEXHSH Colvin's money in
his possession. He was hangen at Cleveland » Ohio, on
August 10, 1866.
