CARROLL, Manus, hanged New York, NY, 1/23/1749
From The New York Gazette Revived tn the Weekly Post Boy of

January 30th 1749.

"Saturday last MANUS CARROLL was executed
at the gallows near the powder-—house
without the walls of this city. Tis said
he confessed the crime for which he
suffered and acknowledged that he had
been an old notorious sinner being up-
wards of 60 years of age. But professed
to rely on the mercy of God and hoped he
died in charity with all men."
