- Naiberg, an itinerant truck-driver, roomed for a time
_with Mrs. Mary Wallace in Lorain, Ohio, before moving

to Michigan after Mrs. Wallace asked him to leave her

house because of -his constant advances to her. He re~
turned in 1939, ostensibly to pick up his mail, and when

she resisted his advances once again, he strangled her to

~-geath in a rage. For seven years,:Naiberg traveled over
the country, featured on the F. B. I.'s most wanted list.

He was not captured because, in spite of his age, he

grew an additional three inches in heighth to 6'5" and

_ gained 30 pounds. He was finall y apprehended when he
