ROBERT ROBINSON INoyeatdly lhey ILS) Ah

Negro, aged 23. Hanged at Annapolis, Maryland, for
the murder of an elderly white farmer named James
Elder Tydings. The victim was attacked in broad day-
light on the road near Boone Station on April 26, 1919.
Mr. Tydings had been grocery shopping and Robinson
coveted his pork chops. So he beat him up in the road,
dragged him into the woods where he bashed his head in
with a rock and stole the pork chops which he then
took home and ate for dinner. He also helped himself
to whatever money the victim had.
